Eastside Dermatology was founded by Dr. Erickson and Dr. Kelly in 1991.
They were joined by Dr. Tadlock in 1993, followed by Dr. Francis in 1997. We are fortunate to work together as colleagues as well as friends.
Kathryn Erickson, M.D.
Dr. Erickson grew up in the Midwest before moving to the Seattle area. She attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate degree, and continued at the UW for medical school, where she, Dr. Kelly and Dr. Francis were classmates, graduating
in 1984. She completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine, and practiced Internal Medicine for a year before returning to the University of Washington for Dermatology residency. Thereafter, she and Dr. Kelly
co-founded Eastside Dermatology. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the American Academy of Dermatology, Pacific Northwest Dermatologic Society, Washington State Medical Association, and is board certified in Dermatology
and Internal Medicine.
She feels privileged to care for her patients, enjoys the variety of dermatologic conditions, and is grateful to be working with such an outstanding group of colleagues and friends. She has
three grown sons, and spends free time skiing, hiking, and training (or being trained by) her black lab, Abby.
Sharon Kelly, M.D.
Dr. Kelly grew up in a military family. While she loved her early life of travel she was happy to finally put down roots in the Seattle area where she attended medical school at the University of Washington. She continued her training at the University
of Washington in Internal Medicine initially and then went on to complete a residency in Dermatology. She is board certified in Dermatology. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, The American Academy of Dermatology and
the Washington State Dermatology Association.
Dr. Kelly has been with Eastside Dermatology since she and Dr. Erickson started the practice in 1991. She enjoys the practice just as much now as she did then, and particularly the relationships she has built with
her patients over the years. When she is out of the office she enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, traveling and exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Julie Francis, M.D.
Dr. Francis grew up on the west coast and attended college at Stanford University and medical school at the University of Washington. She trained in pediatrics at Seattle Children's Hospital and dermatology at the University of Washington. She completed
a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Seattle Children's Hospital and continued on staff there for an additional 8 years as an Associate Professor in the Division of Dermatology. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha,
the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology, Washington State Medical Association and Pacific Northwest Dermatology Society.
She joined Eastisde Dermatology in 1997 and thoroughly enjoys the time she is able to spend caring for her patients. Dr. Francis specializes in pediatric dermatology and sees patients with complex as well as common
skin disorders. She continues to hold an academic appointment at Seattle Children's and treats patients with vascular birthmarks there. The most satisfying aspect of her practice is the relationships she has formed with
her patients and families over the years. When she is not spending time with her colleagues and patients, she enjoys movement of all varieties - yoga, walking, Pilates and gardening. She has two grown children who live
in the Seattle area.
Lauri Tadlock, M.D.
Dr. Tadlock is a board certified dermatologist who has been with Eastside Dermatology since 1993. Her interests include general medical dermatology - particularly skin cancers screenings and acne treatment. She loves talking to patients many of whom have
been with her for years and explaining their conditions and options for treatment.
Dr. Tadlock earned a bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington. She also attended medical school at the UW and went on to complete a residency in Internal Medicine at
the University of Minnesota. Her dermatology training was done at the University of California at San Francisco where she served as a chief resident. She is Alpha Omega Alpha, a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology,
the European Acedemy of Dermatology and the Washington State Medical Association.
She enjoys astronomy, history and traveling and especially spending time with her family.
